Begich Endorsed By Alaska Native Brotherhood and Alaska Native Sisterhood At Grand Camp

After Hearing From Both Candidates Group Endorses Mark Begich for United States Senate

ANCHORAGE- U.S. Senator Mark Begich is honored to receive the endorsement of the Alaska Native Brotherhood (ANB) and Alaska Native Sisterhood (ANS) at its 102nd annual Grand Camp in Petersburg.

Mark Begich and U.S. Senate candidate Dan Sullivan addressed delegates and after hearing from both candidates, the ANB and ANS Grand Camp passed a resolution endorsing Mark Begich to continue representing their members and Southeast Alaska in the U.S. Senate.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the Alaska Native Brotherhood and Alaska Native Sisterhood after my years of fighting to protect subsistence, empower tribes and represent Alaska Natives and rural communities. ANB and ANS have spent a century standing up for Alaska Natives and I’ve been proud to attend Grand Camp almost every year I’ve been in the Senate. I know we need to continue fighting to provide better care for our veterans, investments in our infrastructure and hundreds of millions in back payments to tribal health facilities,” said U.S. Senator Mark Begich.

Title: Support Election of Senator Mark Begich to U.S. Senate

Whereas, Mark Begich has served honorably and capably in the United States Senate; and

Whereas, Mark Begich is knowledgeable and an effective advocate of Native Issues; and

Whereas, the State of Alaska is currently the beneficiary of 2 U.S. senators from both major political parties; now therefore be it

RESOLVED that the Alaska Native Brotherhood and the Alaska Native Sisterhood in Grand Camp assembled in October 8-11, 2014, support Mark Begich’s reelection bid

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska Native Brotherhood and the Alaska Native Sisterhood in Grand Camp, urges its membership and their families to better understand the issues in the upcoming election and consider carefully the candidates and their positions on issues important to them.
